Calf Pen Meadow Elementary School

News from the Meadow

October 17, 2025

Dear Calf Pen Meadow Families,

There’s a lot of great information in this week’s newsletter, so please be sure to read through carefully — there’s something for everyone!

A big thank you to all who joined our PTA meeting this week. I also had the pleasure of meeting with the CPM Drama Club Directors and learning all about this year’s production of Aladdin! I’m so excited for my first experience as CPM principal to witness the incredible talent our students bring to the stage. (Sign-up information can be found below.)

Thank you as well to all families who attended conferences. It’s always wonderful to see students’ learning and growth celebrated in partnership with our teachers. Our Room 17 Math After School Program is also officially underway, and our Kindergarteners are looking forward to a special visit from the Fire Department next week for fire safety education.

I hope many of you had the chance to enjoy Restaurant Night at ChimiChurri. We’re also looking ahead with excitement to pumpkin painting, Trunk or Treat, and our annual costume parade — all the details are below! And looking a bit further ahead, we can’t wait for our Veterans Day celebration and Turkey Trot next month.

I’ve loved visiting classrooms this week — teachers and students have UFLI routines running smoothly, and during Bookworms, I saw students chorally reading with enthusiasm and confidence. There’s so much great learning happening across Calf Pen Meadow each day!

Lastly, our staff enjoyed a delicious breakfast from our PTA on Friday morning. It was a wonderful way to end a busy week. THANK YOU, CPM PTA!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Annamaria Simonelli
Principal

Please RSVP and/or share the “Wall of Honor” form with Alesha Hubball by November 6, 2024.

Minute Meetings with School Counselors!

We are excited to share that starting again this fall, our school counselor will meet briefly with all 4th and 5th graders for “Minute Meetings”. These short, individual conversations help us learn more about each student and ensure they feel a strong sense of belonging, connection and support in the Milford Public Schools. Counselors will ask a few simple questions about students’ interests and school experiences to help guide how we support them in their academic and personal growth throughout the year.

If you have questions about Minute Meetings, please contact Carly Pala
at carlypala@milforded.org

Bus Evacuation Drill - Rescheduled!

Our bus evacuation drill was scheduled to take place on Monday, 10/13. Due to the rain, it has been rescheduled with a date TBD.
