Calf Pen Meadow Elementary School

News from the Meadow

October 24, 2025

Dear Calf Pen Meadow Families,

This week was full of excitement and community fun at Calf Pen! Our kindergarteners learned all about fire safety during a special visit from local firefighters—complete with exploring the fire truck. Families also got creative with pumpkin painting, filling our cafeteria with festive fall spirit.

I wrapped up my Grade 5 lunch groups and am looking forward to starting with our Grade 4 students next week. Drama Club auditions brought out so much talent and enthusiasm—what a great start to the season!

Next week our Grade 3 students will head to the Milford Audubon Society, and we’ll celebrate Friday with our annual school wide Costume Parade! As a special TREAT for parents and staff, the Drift Café coffee truck will be on site—see details below. We can’t wait to see everyone tonight at Trunk or Treat!

Best,
Annamaria Simonelli
Principal

Veterans Day Celebration

We will take the time to honor our Veterans through song and written pieces. Students should remember to wear their Boy/Girl Scout uniforms or Patriotic Colors. Families may fill out a Veteran’s Biography for our “Wall of Honor”. Please also note the “Veterans Day Invite” if you know a veteran who would like to participate in our celebration. Please RSVP and/or share the “Wall of Honor” form with Alesha Hubball by November 6, 2024.

Below you will see students from Mrs. DeEll's class sorting out which information is safe to share online.

Bus Evacuation Drill

Conducting emergency drills is one of the most important ways we enhance our preparedness for students and staff during an emergency. Drills allow us to practice what we need to do when an emergency arises in our school.

This week, student bus riders at CPM conducted a bus safety drill. This was only a drill and was in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district, in partnership with our bus company. I am pleased to report that the drill was a success. It was efficient and timely.  If you have any feedback please reach out.
