Dear Calf Pen Meadow Families,

What a fantastic week here at school! On Thursday, our halls were glowing with pink pride as students and staff showed their support for Breast Cancer Awareness.

We also enjoyed a special treat thanks to the Drift Cafe coffee truck—staff and families loved the delicious coffee and breakfast. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the morning feel extra cozy and connected.

Today’s Halloween parade brought smiles, laughter, and some absolutely amazing costumes! Our students did such a wonderful job showing creativity—what a fun way to wrap up the week together.  Many classes also enjoyed celebrations after the parade.

I am excited to share that the Calf Pen Spirit Wear Online Store is officially open.  I can't wait to shop!  More information can be found below.

Wishing all of our families a safe and happy Halloween weekend! It's hard to believe November begins next week—we look forward to another month of learning, celebration, and community!

Best,
Annamaria Simonelli
Principal

Veterans Day Celebration

We will take the time to honor our Veterans through song and written pieces. Students should remember to wear their Boy/Girl Scout uniforms or Patriotic Colors. Families may fill out a Veteran’s Biography for our “Wall of Honor”. Please also note the “Veterans Day Invite” if you know a veteran who would like to participate in our celebration. Please RSVP and/or share the “Wall of Honor” form with Alesha Hubball by November 6, 2024.

🚒Emergency Drills

Conducting emergency drills (fire, crisis, lockdown, etc.) is one of the most important ways we enhance our preparedness for students and staff during an emergency. Drills allow us to practice what we need to do when an emergency arises in our school.

CPM will be conducting a crisis drill next week. This will only be a drill and will be conducted in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district and in collaboration with our local first responders.  Please discuss the importance of our emergency drills with your children.  If you have any feedback please reach out to asimonelli@milforded.org.  We thank you for your cooperation and partnership in making our schools a safer place for learning.

2024-2025 School of Distinction

The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) has recognized Calf Pen Meadow as a 2024-2025 School of Distinction for High Growth (All Students) in Math and High Growth (High Needs Students) in Math.  This is an amazing accomplishment and truly depicts the hard work of our students and staff.  Way to go, Calf Pen!  Read the full press release here.
