News from the Meadow

Dear Calf Pen Meadow Families,

A huge thank you to our School Beautification Committee for refreshing our flower garden and adding a new layer of mulch — it looks wonderful!

This week, on Tuesday, while students enjoyed the day off, our teachers and staff participated in meaningful professional learning.  It was great to see so many excited faces at the Drama Club kick-off meeting — both parents and students are clearly looking forward to the season ahead!  On Friday, our kindergarteners also had a fantastic time exploring books and learning during their field trip to the Milford Public Library.

Don’t forget — our Spirit Wear Store is now live! Place your orders by November 16 to show off your Calf Pen pride. The PTA has a number of exciting events coming up, so be sure to read below for details and keep an eye out for our upcoming Holiday Dessert Fundraiser!  .

I am looking forward to our Veterans Day celebration on Tuesday.  Have a restful weekend.

Warmly,
Annamaria Simonelli
Principal

Veterans Day Celebration

We will take the time to honor our Veterans through song and written pieces. Students should remember to wear their Boy/Girl Scout uniforms or Patriotic Colors. Families may fill out a Veteran’s Biography for our “Wall of Honor”. Please also note the “Veterans Day Invite” if you know a veteran who would like to participate in our celebration.

🚒Emergency Drills

Conducting emergency drills (fire, crisis, lockdown, etc.) is one of the most important ways we enhance our preparedness for students and staff during an emergency. Drills allow us to practice what we need to do when an emergency arises in our school.

Earlier this week, Calf Pen Meadow conducted a crisis drill. This was only a drill and was in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district, in partnership with our local first responders. I am pleased to report that the drill was a success. It was efficient and timely.  If you have any feedback please reach out.  I want to thank our students and staff for their interest and participation in making our schools a safer place for learning.
