Dear Families,
What a wonderful week we had at MSD! Our Grade Five students put on an amazing parade,
led proudly by the Pep Squad. It was such a joyful event. Each float was created using
success criteria, and students were required to stay within a budget—an engaging way for them
to do meaningful “work” while having fun. A special thank-you to the teachers who supported
this project.
I have been spending a great deal of time in classrooms observing teaching and learning. MPS
is working on three district goals this year, and I am committed to connecting those goals to our
daily work at MDS. It has been inspiring to see what students are accomplishing—from early
reading skills to defining vocabulary words that help them tackle challenging texts. Your children
are happy, engaged, and working hard each day.
Thank you to the parents who have supported holiday activities in the classrooms, to the P.T.A.
for treating our staff to coffee before the break, and to the families who chaperoned the Grade
Four field trip. We appreciate you!
Upcoming: Our Grade Four and Grade Five Winter Concert will be held on Wednesday,
December 3, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Jonathan Law High School.
