Dear Families,
The holidays are upon us and at Meadowside we are making sure we are inclusive of our holiday celebrations. On Friday, 12/12 at Meadowside the Winter Festival will take place and I hope many families will support this P.T.A. Event. It is from 6:00-7:30 at Meadowside.
We had a HEART all school meeting this week and many students and classrooms were recognized for their excellent effort during the last few months. The MDS Pep Squad led off the celebration with a fun cheer and then students led the entire meeting. Thank you to Mrs. Morin who coordinates this for our community.
The new Progress report for your child/children are available in Power School under the tab grades. This is a brand new report and we hope you find it informative. This standards-based progress report is designed to show your child’s growth toward end-of-year grade-level standards. The progress report will demonstrate when a child is emerging, progressing, or meeting the end-of-year standard. In this first marking period, representing three months of learning, it is expected that most students will be marked in the categories of Emerging or Progressing toward the standard at this time. This indicates that they are moving along an age- and developmentally-appropriate learning path, which represents competencies that identify knowledge and skills each learner will be expected to demonstrate by the end of the year. If you have any questions please reach out to your child/children's teacher for support.
I have spent my time at MDS doing observations in the classroom to support teaching and learning. I have witnessed many bright spots of instruction and students' participation in classrooms. It is amazing to see how well students are progressing.
