Heart Highlights

February 27, 2026

Dear Meadowside Families,

It certainly was an unusual week with three snow days! We hope all of our Meadowside families were able to stay safe, warm, and enjoy a little extra time together. While the snow was beautiful, we were glad on Thursday to be back together and back into our learning routines.

A huge congratulations to our fifth grade finalists in the Meadowside Spelling Bee: Shai, Aliyah, Rowan, Simon, Mason, and Spruha! These students demonstrated impressive preparation, focus, and perseverance  — confidently tackling challenging words with poise and determination. We are especially excited to share that Shai will go on to represent Meadowside at the district-level competition later this spring. We are so proud of all of our finalists and the way they represented our school community!

Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate Read Across America Week next week! This special week is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the joy and importance of reading. Strong reading habits build vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, spark imagination, and open doors to lifelong learning.

Our Read Across America week Bingo Boards are coming home today, and we encourage all of our families to support students in completing as many activities as they can. The board is designed to make reading fun, creative, and engaging — whether that’s reading in a cozy spot, sharing a favorite book with a family member, or trying a new genre.  Students who return their completed bingo boards by the end of next week will be entered into a raffle for book prizes!

We also invite everyone to participate in our Read Across America themed spirit days throughout the week. These shared experiences help build excitement around books and foster a strong sense of belonging in our school community.

Thank you for partnering with us to nurture a love of reading in every child. Happy Reading, Meadowside!
