Heart Highlights

February 6, 2026

Good Afternoon Meadowside Families,

Thank you to our PTA for hosting the Sweetheart Dance this evening! We are so grateful for their time and energy in planning such a special event, and we hope our students and their Special Guests have a wonderful time celebrating together.

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated our 100th day of school! Our hallways were filled with creative 100-year-olds, impressive collections of 100 items, and plenty of “100 Days Smarter” signs. Our students have worked incredibly hard over these first 100 days, and we are 100% proud of them!

As a reminder, school will be closed next Friday, February 13th and the following Monday, February 16 for our Mid-Winter Break. We hope this long weekend provides time for rest, fun, and family connection.

Finally, our Lost and Found is filling up quickly with coats, sweaters, and other winter items. Please take a moment to remind your child to check the Lost and Found before the break. Any unclaimed items will be donated following Mid-Winter Break.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support.

Stay warm,

Mrs. Gail Krois

School Safety Drills

Next week Meadowside School will be conducting a lockdown drill. This will only be a drill and will be conducted in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district, and in collaboration with our local first responders. Please discuss the importance of our emergency drills with your children.  We thank you for your cooperation and partnership with keeping our schools safe!

Grade Five Reminder

This month, all 5th grade Spanish classes will have the opportunity to showcase their language skills through the AAPPL proficiency assessment. We are excited to offer this experience at the elementary level as a meaningful way to celebrate our students’ growing confidence and progress in Spanish. This work is a direct reflection of the engaging, student-centered instruction taking place each day. Thank you to Señora Gonzalez for creating a vibrant language lab where learning a second language is interactive, joyful, and fun—her ability to connect with students and bring language to life is truly something to celebrate!

Food to Kids

Food To Kids is an organization whose mission is to provide free meals to families of children who attend local schools.  If you are interested in learning more about this program or have any additional needs that we might be able to help with, please reach out to our Social Worker Jenna Stanczyk at jstanczyk@milforded.org or our School Counselor Brittany Smith at brittanysmith@milforded.org.
