Thank you so much to PTA and all families for your incredible generosity and thoughtfulness during our “SUNsational” Staff Appreciation Week! You truly made our entire staff feel celebrated, appreciated, and cared for each and every day.
From the “Rise & Shine” breakfast kickoff on Monday morning, to the sunshine snacks that kept us glowing on Tuesday, every thoughtful detail brought smiles to our staff. Wednesday’s yogurt bar was such a bright and cheerful treat, and Thursday’s Silver Sands Pizza Truck lunch was absolutely amazing! We wrapped up the week feeling especially spoiled with the delicious baked goods from Icing on the Cake.
Your creativity, kindness, and attention to detail made the entire week feel so special. The SUNsational theme perfectly captured the warmth and positivity you brought to our building all week long. Our staff was incredibly touched by the outpouring of appreciation and gratitude.
Thank you for always supporting our school community with such generosity and HEART. We are so fortunate to have a families who continually go above and beyond for our students and staff.
Stay tuned next week to learn about some special visitors from today who also joined in celebrating our staff!

A heartfelt thank you to our PTA and all of our wonderful volunteers for hosting another successful plant sale! Your time, hard work, and dedication helped make the event such a special part of our school community. We are so grateful for all you do to support Meadowside. Wishing all of our Meadowside families a very Happy Mother’s Day weekend filled with love, joy, and time together! |
A special shout out as well to all of our talented students whose artwork was celebrated this week at the art show! We are so proud of the creativity, imagination, and hard work our students showcased. Thank you to our families for coming out to support and celebrate their incredible work. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing art teachers, Mrs. Clare Dancho and Mrs. Sarah Bousquet, for the incredible work they do in supporting our students’ creativity and for helping to bring our Art Show to life this week. Their dedication, encouragement, and guidance made it possible for every student to feel proud of their work and to have their creativity celebrated in such a meaningful way. It was truly wonderful to see the halls of the Parsons Complex filled with student artwork and to experience the joy it brings to our larger community. Stop by not just to check out our artists but our middle and high school artists too!

Good afternoon Band and Strings students and families
I am sending this reminder that our 4th and 5th Grade Instrumental Spring Concert performance is coming up at the end of this month.
I know there are a lot of chorus concerts going on in May, so I apologize in advance if things seem confusing, but this communication is specifically for Band and Strings students. Due to the high number of kids and attendance back in the winter, we are now having two separate evenings for the spring - 1 night for Band students and 1 night for Strings students. Please note the dates below:
4th and 5th Grade Band Concert (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion students)
Wednesday May 27, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Jonathan Law High School Auditorium
4th and 5th Grade Strings Concert (violin, viola, cello, bass students)
Thursday May 28th, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Jonathan Law High School Auditorium
Students are requested to wear a white or light top and black or dark bottoms and report to Jonathan Law High School by 5:30 PM to set up.
It is still a few weeks away, but as always, please encourage the kids to practice their music at home. Please mark your calendars and I look forward to a nice musical night.
Thank you,
Brian Boots
Band and Strings teacher
Mathewson, Meadowside, JFK, and Pumpkin Delight Elementary Schools.

How it Works
People purchase an “I Got Ducked” sign for $50 (online).
The purchaser provides the address where the sign is to be delivered (within Milford).
The purchaser selects the elementary school they want their purchase to count for.
The school with the most “I Got Ducked” purchases (votes) will receive one free duck ticket for every student in the school.
Tickets will be delivered a few days before Race Day (Saturday, May 30th).
Purchase deadline: Tuesday, May 26th.
Live Oaks Currently in the Lead
At this point, Live Oaks is in the lead – (and, by the way, LOS won last year – and one of their students won one of the top 3 prizes).
The ‘Why’
While the Duck Race is a fun, family-friendly event every year, the purpose is to raise funds for the Milford United Way. This year, the MUW provided robust support for 8 local agencies here (Woodruff Family YMCA, The Storehouse Project, Beth-El Center, Bridges Healthcare, Rape Crisis of Milford, Purple Pantry Boxes, Haven’s Harvest, and Good Child Development Center) and fulfilled dozens of individual requests made through our office. Some examples of these include home heating assistance, food cards, camp scholarships, utility bill assistance, housing assistance and much, much more. And, not to be outdone, we distributed more than 17,000 diapers – free of charge -- to families in need, last year, alone.
We hope you will join us in making this year’s Duck Race the biggest and best one ever!

Dear Families,
We invite you to take a moment to read this week’s CCC Newsletter, where you’ll find a variety of fun, family-friendly activities to enjoy together, including the Milford Early Start CT Family Focus Group with dinner provided. It’s a great way to stay connected and engaged with our community. As a reminder, if your family is ever in need of support, many helpful community resources are available on the CCC webpage.
