My Fellow Lions,

An Amazing week here at OAS with our Open House. It was great to see returning families and so nice to meet new families. The Open house is a great opportunity to meet the teacher and learn about the classroom routines as well as the academics occurring within the school day. Thank you to all who attended. As has become an annual tradition, the much anticipated OAS “opening credits” video was debuted during open house. Check out this year’s by clicking here.

Important News

drop off
  • Morning Arrival - To help keep our arrival process smooth and safe for everyone, please keep the following in mind:

  • 🚗 Drop-Off Loop Only – All vehicles must use the drop-off loop. Cars may not park on Orange Avenue to walk children in. This creates major safety issues and blocks traffic in the loop. Only true “walkers” should be arriving by foot.

  • 🚘Do not drop off children on Orange Avenue, you must enter the parking lot and have students exit where staff are located.

  • 👋 Be Ready to Exit – When entering the loop, please have students ready to exit the vehicle (preferably on the passenger side). Our staff is happy to assist with doors and car seats, but the more prepared your child is, the faster the line will move.

  • 🎶 Arrival Music Requests – Have a favorite (school appropriate) song your child would love to hear in the morning? Send me your requests—we’ll keep the drop-off line upbeat!

  • 🕣Pro tip: Don’t want to wait that long in line come at 8:30 am or 3:30 pm.

  • OAS Fun Fridays - Next Friday will be our first OAS Fun Friday with Going Gold to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. These themed days hope to build a sense of school community and occasionally support awareness of a cause close to the school. The intent of these days isn't to add any stress to home or have you go out to Target this weekend to scramble to find a gold shirt. Students can wear the themed color/item or OAS spiritwear or anything that they feel comfortable wearing.

  • Welcome from the Media Center - Check out this welcome letter from Ms. Candido discussing the media center.

  • Bus Zone App - The Bus Zone App is now available for parents to download and use. Directions and more information are here.

  • Community Connections Center  - Be sure to check out this week’s CCC news on the  CCC Website which is updated with links to community resources.

  • OAS International Night - What country would you  like represented at OAS’s International Night, Friday November 7? Consider hosting a country table. If you have questions, you can email Mrs. Lennon mlennon@milforded.org. Use this form  to sign up to host a table.
