Special Opportunity!
Proudly, the Milford Public Schools participates in the CSDE's Teacher Residency Program. The program is an alternate route to elementary or special education certification aiming to increase educator diversity. Mentor teachers work side-by-side with a resident to share all aspects of teaching and coach the resident to become a fully prepared first-year teacher.
We are looking for two teachers to be mentors. This mentor role comes with a $6000 stipend.
Commitments
Host a resident for a full school year
Attend a two-day training May 14-15
Meet with resident weekly
Support resident teacher
Model, observe, & coach resident
Complete evaluations of resident
Requirements
Be a TEAM mentor (or get trained)
Be an elementary teacher in grades 1-5 & teaching all subjects OR
Be a special education teacher
Have 5 years experience (3 in Milford)

Certified educators can check the status of their certifications, including their expiration dates without logging in to a system.

If you need to renew your certificate or add an endorsement, this is the link to the CSDE's certification site.
If you receive an additional certification or a renewal certificate, it's important that you send a copy to TMD for your file and our records.

Non-residents: visit the Recreation Department in the Parsons Center and show your MPS ID.
Milford residents: visit the Tax Office as always.

As a reminder, AFLAC is an approved vendor of ours that provides all employees with additional voluntary benefits, such as short-term disability, accident insurance, etc. While the premiums for these additional benefit plans are not funded by the Milford Public Schools, they CAN be paid for through payroll deductions, which is very convenient.
