Student Leadership Experience

Students from The Academy have been meeting with students in the PGTA program to lead fun activities! Students are learning key leadership skills, the importance of community building, inclusion, and mutual support, creating a welcoming school environment where every student thrives.

 

Family Literacy Program

Milford Adult Education presents its Family Literacy Program, which meets on Thursdays at John F. Kennedy Elementary School from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. This program is an excellent opportunity for parents and guardians to advance their educational goals while engaging in meaningful activities with their children. Essay Contest

The Milford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting essay contests, one for Grades 5-8 and one for Grades 9-12. Winners of the Chapter have a chance to move on to the State, Division and National contests.

Mental Health Presentation

The Milford Prevention Council, along with community partners, will host a free presentation about youth mental health at Harborside Middle School on October 7 at 6 p.m. Sign up here!

 

Special Education Committee

The Milford PTA Council's Special Education Committee is partnering with the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services for an informational event on October 8 at Parsons Government Center. RSVP here!

 

Vaccine Clinics

The Milford Health Department will host several vaccine clinics through the fall. All ages are welcome, and children from six months to 18 years old will receive them for free.

 

JLHS Music Booster Club

The Jonathan Law Music Booster Club is hosting a pancake breakfast and karaoke event on Sunday, October 4, at the Elk's Lodge. Sign up here!

The Jonathan Law Music Booster Club is hosting a clothing drive on Saturday, October 10, at Jonathan Law High School.

The Milford Health Department is partnering with the Milford Police Department for a presentation about protecting yourself from scammers. The event is at the Milford Public Library on October 13.

Touch-a-Truck

The Junior Woman's Club will host its annual "Touch-a-Truck" event on October 18 at Eisenhower Park. Purchase presale tickets here!

 

What Every Girl Needs to Know

The Milford Department of Human Services/Youth & Family Services will host a discussion designed for 4th & 5th grade girls with mothers/support person on the physical and emotional changes of puberty. It is on October 21, at Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus, at 6:30 p.m. Sign up here!

 

Falls Hallow Fest

The Downtown Milford Business Association will host a "Gilmore Girls" themed festival on the Milford Green on Sunday, October 25. 

 

Veterans Day Parade

Milford's Veterans Day Parade will step-off at noon on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The parade will feature veterans, military organizations, marching bands, community groups, first responders, and displays celebrating both our local heroes and America's 250-year journey. Students and their veteran relatives who would like to march in the parade can RSVP to milfordveteransdayparade@gmail.com.

 

Mermaid Books Event

Milford Public Schools and Mermaid Books will welcome Victoria on Sunday, November 8, at 11 a.m. at the Jonathan Law High School Auditorium for a reading of Snickerdoodle, as well as fun, Pinkalicious-themed crafts and activities. The event is free, reserve your spot here!
